About me

Shark vs Lion is the music of Wellington based musician Adam Crawford.

I am a drummer who over the years strummed guitars, plucked basses and sang back up vocals. Having stuck with it over the years I now use my experiences with music to write, perform, record and produce my own music. I call the music Shark vs Lion and roll with whatever comes, refining the music until I can listen without cringing. 

Shark vs Lion symbolises the bringing together of different things, different influences and different ideas -  things that might be from different worlds that might not usually go together. Leveraging various music styles and experiences combined with different visual effects, often from existing footage, I hope to create something interesting. At the heart of the project however is a desire to create good quality, high energy, sincere music. Solo music that sounds like a band - loose, energetic and shot from the hip - not perfect but always from the heart.

Truly DIY I take care of pretty much everything from the writing, playing, performance, recording, mixing to the web site, graphic design, video editing, communication etc. I enjoy the freedom of being able to go in any direction I choose.
